Donate through your Donor-Advised Fund
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to support your favorite causes.
- You can contribute cash, securities or other assets to a donor-advised fund. Typically you are eligible to take an immediate tax deduction and then the funds are invested for potential for tax-free growth. You can then recommend grants to any qualified public charity, such as APDA.
- You can make a one-time gift or set your DAF account to make automatic recurring grants in the amount and frequency of your choice. It’s easy to do. Just log into your account on your charitable sponsor’s website and select “recurring” option. It’s a great way to make your charitable giving more convenient.
If you would like to make a gift now through your DAF, simply click the link below to find your fund:

Many individuals choose to make a gift to the American Parkinson Disease Association by donating shares of stock or long-term appreciated securities.
Giving stock doesn’t just help the PD community: It also helps you.
Increase Your Giving Power
A gift of appreciated stock to APDA can benefit you in two ways: you receive a charitable income tax deduction for the full fair market value of the securities, and at the same time you may avoid capital gains taxes on appreciated stock. This helps stretch your gift even further.LEARN MORE
Qualified Charitable Distributions
If you are 70.5 or older with a traditional IRA, you’re eligible for one of the most tax-savvy
ways to support the American Parkinson Disease Association: donating directly from your IRA.
This is also called a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD, or an IRA Rollover:
- Gifts are always tax-free, regardless of whether or not you itemize your return. This is one of the only ways to make a donation without dipping into your taxable income.
- You can give up to $100,000 out of your IRA tax-free.
Just like donating via cash or check, giving from your IRA is an immediate and impactful way to
support APDA — but unlike a cash gift, it helps you save on your taxes in the process.
Donating through your IRA doesn’t have to be complicated or stressful, and our online
platform makes it painless and fast. You will be guided through the donation process in
under 10 minutes, with no sensitive information required. Your paperwork will even be

Become a Corporate Sponsor
APDA welcomes the opportunity to explore National and Regional corporate partner relationships that meet the philanthropic objectives of your organization.
By making a monthly gift to the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA), you can improve quality of life for families, caregivers, and all those impacted by the disease. That’s because your gifts fund education, referrals, support, and public awareness programs that change lives. At the same time, your gift allows us to invest in research that is searching for a cure.
Becoming a monthly donor makes sense for so many reasons:
– It’s easy. The monthly amount you select is charged to your credit card automatically. You’re of course free to cancel at any time.
– It’s cost-effective. Your money goes further, because monthly giving reduces the need for regular appeals, saving money spent on printing, paper and stamps.
– It’s money we can count on. Knowing we can count on your monthly support helps us budget more effectively as an organization.
– It makes a difference. Your monthly donation will help us reach out to people in your state living with Parkinson’s disease.
Memorials & Tributes
A memorial gift or gift in honor is a thoughtful way to remember a loved one or dear friend while at the same time giving hope to others.
When making an online donation, kindly give us the name of the memorial or person of honor as well as the name of a family member or close friend you wish to notify and after you have made your contribution—an acknowledgement letter will be sent to the family member or friend you designate and a tax receipt will be sent to you. Please know that we will not specify the amount of the donation in the acknowledgement to the family.
Memorial and honorary contributions to the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
